Tuberculosis Register

• Compiling data on all TB cases, drug resistance and TB treatment.
• Using data from the register to analyse the effectiveness of treatment and to plan control measures and health services.
• Providing data on TB morbidity and treatment outcomes to the Health Statistics Database.

Health promotion and prevention

• Supporting legislation and health policy development.
• Sharing evidence-based information with decision makers, opinion leaders and policy makers.
• Participation in national and international working groups and projects.
• Cooperation with ministries, professional associations, and non-profit organisations in Estonia and abroad.

Services

• Development and coordination of the directly observed outpatient TB treatment services (DOTS).
• Ensuring quality of TB care by providing supervision.

Training and information

• TB training for health professionals.
• Provision of tuberculosis materials on tuberculosis for the general public and guidance materials for professionals.
